Lift up the poor

V1.  You may be lucky,

Where you were born.

You may be fortunate

That you are not poor.

What if you were

Somewhere else?

How would you take

Care of yourself?

V2.  God says, “I command

You to be openhanded,

Toward your brothers and

Toward the poor and

Needy in your land.”

C.  Give to others,

Show mercy and compassion

To one another.

V3.  Practice the

Grace of giving,

For God loves a

Cheerful giver.

V4.  We can minister

To others in need.

Let us love with

Actions, and in truth.
